After his 2023 album ‘When you lose the light’ Braden Lawrence treats us to a delightfully mellow new single Gary taken from the forthcoming EP of the same name released on the 15th November.
Starting with a lightly strummed guitar and Bradens distinctive vocals, before everything else slowly kicks in.
Gary is a song told from the perspective of an elderly man looking for love after loss, and it is beautifully haunting, especially as the piano tinkers away in the background.
“When you lose something you find something new” is just one of the extremely memorable lines hidden in this gem of a song and anyone who listens to this will certainly be glad of finding it.
The song is littered with beautiful lyrics and sublime rhymes you can’t help but find yourself singing along after only a couple of listens and will certainly leave you wanting to hear more, and if you can’t wait for the release of the EP it’s well worth checking out the previous effort ‘When You Lose the Light’ or even his other work under the name Haggert Mctaggert. It’s also worth noting that Braden is the drummer of the amazing band The Districts.
