Single: Bella Marcy – Devoted

“It’s a familiar ache – yearning to be around someone, always, but fearing unrequited affection. If it’s all for nothing, the pining and infatuation could be a waste of time. If it works out, then it feels worth the effort, and maybe the anguish led to something good. Despite the pending outcome, yearning defines the passion and angst that stains the glass of love.

A hunger for love is no unique experience. However, people undergo the process differently every time. For Bella Marcy, the journey is colored with ups and downs, turbulent in its fervor. This is exemplified in her upcoming single Devoted, which finds balance in disguise and desperation. With haunting violins and a juxtaposition between distorted and clean vocals, this dream pop track features elements of trip-hop, pop, and alternative rock in order to carve out the ups and downs of wanting a lil cuddle. Both modern and nostalgic, Devoted is Bella Marcy’s self-performed and produced masterwork.”

This was taken from a press release we received for this single from this 21-year multiinstrumentalist and producer making dreamy alt pop. We are not usually covering alt pop as much because we love to feature smaller indiepend artist that are belonging to less mainstream genres. But this one has captivated us. The song is showing a great crasftmanshp of Bella and I would not be surprised this would pick up on streaming. It has great pop quality and catchiness that a good indie alt pop song should have and I really enjoyed getting lost in the dreamy melody.
