‘The envious die not once, but as oft as the envied win applause.’
A bossa nova-influenced acoustic guitar chord pattern and a beautifully clunky and warm drum machine pattern open the latest single by this eclectic collaborative project – a 2 piece split between Bordeaux and Edinburgh. ‘Jalousie’ is as smooth as it gets, there are touches of slick lo-fi a la Helado Negro and Devendra Banhart as well as a hint of Metronomy’s tongue-in-cheek nature. It is a thoroughly breezy affair that sounds as though it would be best enjoyed by a still river on a late summer evening.
