“Have you ever loved someone so much that it hurts? ‘Take’ by Anna Grace Odom, captures that feeling. This heartfelt, bright, genuine song is full of affection and tenderness. Take is the debut single for Nashville-raised songwriter/artist Anna Grace Odom. Inspired by Adrianne Lenker, Phoebe Bridgers, Leonard Cohen, and the indie scene in Nashville, this song was made with producer Jacob James and collaborator Billy!, and mastered by Joe Hutchinson. This year she has headlined shows in Nashville and opened for artists in New York City. “
We live in the era of strong female indie folk artists and to be honest I am really thankful for that. I imagine seeing Angel Olsen in Philly in 2013 and since that time I was really captivated by female artists. I am really enjoying this debut single from Anna and how nicely goes from slower melancholic parts to more indie rock sections. Nashville has been a strong folk city (at least I think so) and I loved it there when I visited in 2013. I am glad this track made me a little bit nostalgic about my road trip on East Coast and the Southeastern region. I still have with me my diary from that trip and maybe one day I will make it into a book or something. 10 years later I am still doing my blog and sharing great female artists on my blog.
