“Not fully math rock, not fully emo, but a happy and emotional blend of melodic, feel-good, guitar-heavy music. We’re currently working on our 3rd LP and growing our fan base by the day.”
I received the above quote along with a single share that caught my attention. Lately, I’ve been really into math-rocky emo indie rock, so when I stumbled upon this song in our submissions, I was immediately intrigued. Even though the single was released in 2021, it still felt new and exciting to me. The band is currently working on a new album, and the singles they’ve shared offer a good taste of what they have to offer. I really appreciated their innovative approach to emo music, which sets them apart from other bands in the genre.
It has been a whole since I asked my 3 favorite questions, but as this is an introduction to a band type of post, so I though it would be appropriate to ask them:
What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?
Since Mitch and I (Stew) were in high school we’ve been playing guitar together and have always loved all types of guitar driven music. Really just being friends in that environment got us in a great place to start writing with a few other friends from that time (around 2008). Our drive is maintained by the sole idea of being able to take the differences in all four of our minds and make what we think is thought provoking and meaningful music for anyone who wants to listen.
What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?
The most challenging thing has always been timing and creative differences for us. For a while we were never all living in the same city, making it work and keeping the process going slowly. Now we’re all living nearby and we’re all in a similar mindset about what we want when writing, it’s easier to get into a flow state and stay efficient.
What would you dream to do if anything was possible?
Keep writing and playing music all around the world for anyone who enjoys what we do! I think that’s always been and always will be the dream haha.
