It’s just before 6 am. You step out your front door into an eerie peace. The leaves on the trees are an extra crisp green today; it seems as though someone upped the contrast and saturation on the street. The mid-sunrise chill wakes you as you purposefully begin to put one foot in front of the other, heading towards the quiet city. The neighbors are starting to wake up. You see soft lamplight appearing in the windows of the houses you pass. Keys turn the ignitions in driveways. Front doors creak open. A palm facing skyward sneaks out to catch a feel of the temperature.
Everyone feels love in the quiet city.
