The Italian, ultrasaturated are a band focused on taking beauty through shimmering guitars and introspective lyricism to listeners all over the world. To quote the band’s bio, they were; “born amidst the warm embrace of a cabin in the Italian Alps in 2022, ultrasaturated sees the first light during a week-long retreat steeped in nature’s stillness”. This little origin story is rather indicative of what you hear in their newest single, ‘Luna’.
‘Luna’ is a lovely track, bearing resemblance to all of your favourite dream-gaze adjacent groups; like Real Estate, DIIV, and Wild Nothing. It is a display of how nostalgia can be used within music to transport listeners to places they have never been. It is utterly dreamy; dreamy to the point that you can barely latch on to what is happening before it is all over. It passes through you like smoke, with your unawareness that the song has taken a seat inside you. It is a captivating moment, one that I am sure will have it’s DNA spread over the band’s growing discography.
ultrasaturated, though a relatively young band, feel as if they know exactly what they’re going for, what they hope to achieve, and what they want their music to do for listeners. Just like their origin, ‘Luna’ sits in the same mountain cabin, warming you through, a flicker of light glowing in the corner, a sign of light within the darkness.
