Casual Blood Service, a Liverpool, UK-based lofi artist, released their newest single “Crooked Teeth” this summer and I have fallen completely in love with it. Casual Blood Service shows off their songwriting talent in this track, captivating the listener with a sweet, catchy melody and gorgeous chords and harmonies. The way that Casual Blood Service layers their vocals creates this dreamy effect that adds a lot of depth and atmosphere to the track, and the track’s synth melodies keep getting stuck in my head. My favorite line from the song is “I love your crooked teeth, so please smile more at me” – I love both the lyrics themselves but also the way that this line is sung differently throughout the song, with it being repeated a few times near the end with layered vocals and synths that give it an ethereal feel. Casual Blood Service is truly a talented artist and I’m certain that with every release they put out, more and more people will fall in love with their work like I have.
