I’ve noticed an influx of submissions from the indie pop genre, and many of them seem to have a similar vibe – catchy, upbeat, with mainstream-sounding vocals and tons of energy. When I first listened to this album, it seemed to follow the same pattern, but it somehow managed to grow on me. Perhaps it’s due to the summer season and the need for music that reflects that carefree summer mood. The album is packed with catchy tunes, and I found it really hard to pick favorites because of how well the album flows.
I can easily imagine this album being played in cozy coffee shops or popping up on indie Spotify playlists, making it accessible to random listeners who might end up enjoying it. The songs boast great pop qualities, and I have a hunch that they’ll find a wide audience. There are times when I just want to listen to music that makes me feel good and uplifts my mood. I’ve come to realize that the seasons often influence the type of music I gravitate towards, and in the past, I used to feel self-conscious about it. However, I’ve come to value the freedom of embracing whatever music brings me joy. After all, music should always bring happiness, whether it’s somber or cheerful.
