“Defibrillator” is the new single by Well Well Well, from their upcoming album “Summertime Heat”. A combination of indie pop, electronica, and yacht rock, with a killer talk box solo, the song was produced by Seton Edgerton & Daniel Philip Nichols and was mixed & mastered by David Glasebrook (Michael Nau, Sugar Candy Mountain, Sandy’s).”
I’ve been closely following the releases from the Oakland-based label Royal Oakie over the past year. Well Well Well, a band that’s been frequently featured on this blog, has garnered much praise. Their newest album is set for release on September 6, and although most of the songs have been unveiled, it’s a delightful blend of summery indie pop with hints of electronica, psychedelic pop, yacht rock, and tropical pop. The band seamlessly incorporates multiple genres, creating a cohesive and engaging sound. The latest addition to their discography exudes captivating yacht rock vibes, which I’ve found particularly enjoyable, despite it not being a genre I typically listen to. Royal Oakie consistently delivers gems, and their dedication to showcasing diverse and compelling music solidifies their position as one of the finest indie labels. We’re all grateful for their contributions to the music scene.
