“Jane Doe” is Virens’ most introspective and brooding song to date, marking their debut as self-producers and introducing a raw, darker quality to their sound. The song narrates the story of a young woman with grand dreams who ultimately succumbs to her own inner darkness. Drawing inspiration from Cigarettes After Sex, Beach House, and Lana Del Rey, the band eagerly anticipates their growing audience’s reaction to this bold new direction.”
I’ve been a dedicated fan of Virens’ music for quite some time now, and their dreamy indie alt-pop has really resonated with me. It has been incredible to witness their growth from a small fan base to a much larger one. Their unique approach to indie pop is truly refreshing and has a captivating quality that keeps me fully engaged. Even as they begin to create music for a wider audience, I still find it incredibly appealing and can’t help but listen to it on repeat. The mellow, dreamy indie pop sound with influences from artists like Beach House or Cigarettes After Sex is something that I find myself fully immersed in. Just listening to their music allows me to be carried away by the mesmerizing melodies.
