stillyoung have just released their latest and powerful track ‘From Fear’. A melancholic and desperate song detailing the loss of a 16-year-long relationship and still grasping onto that love that the other person has given up on, it makes for an almost heartbreaking yet comforting listen.
The nostalgic and slightly fuzzy opening gently hooks listeners in before the rawer vocals and gentle guitars provide the song with a dream-pop, distant quality, making for an excellent listen, allowing listeners to find solace in the darkest moments.
Lyrics including “I was operating from a place of fear” and “I guess you’re just fed up after years of losing hope” perfectly encapsulate the grief of the loss of a relationship, especially a long-term one, and the dark places that it can take you if you’re not careful.
Just over two minutes long, ‘From Fear’ is an exceptional track from up-and-coming band stillyoung, which leaves listeners eager to discover what’s next from the boys.
