‘Can you see what’s left behind?’
Heavily delayed guitar ping-pongs from headphone to headphone in a brief intro before purposeful electronic drums jump in and a smooth voice croons, instantly calling for attention. The delayed guitar melts into a puddle of reverb before giving way to a blanketing synth pad that follows the wonderfully simple vocals through to the end of the song. There is melancholy, dreamy music with a welcome edge that cuts through the clouds.
From the artist –
‘It’s the sound of Los Angeles. Holistic retreats and the isolation on long drives alone. The awe inducing vastness of the Pacific coast and the existential dread that comes from a never ending summer. The ever healing moment of the radio playing the right song at the right time.’
