We have shared Glad Sisifus’ music before, but if you want to read how the name came to life, here it is:
“The name is inspired by a quote in a book written by Albert Camus. It represents being aware of the hopelessness of life but still striving to find purpose. The songs have a laid back vibe but are still meaningful on a personal level accompanied by dreamy guitars, pop synths, tape saturated vocals, tight drum beats and driving bass.”
I always feel a bit strange when writing about the music we release, but I can’t help but praise the newest single from Czechoslovak musician Nathan Mikletič. We’ve been discussing a potential release under our label for some time, and although we’re still waiting for the right moment, we decided to take a chance with this latest single.
It’s quite possibly the first dream pop and surf pop music in the Slovak language that I’ve genuinely fallen in love with. Previously, Slovak language music didn’t quite resonate with me, but that was primarily because the genres didn’t align with my tastes. However, to hear a dreamy indie track in Slovak is like receiving a wonderful surprise. Even if you don’t understand the lyrics, you can still immerse yourself in this captivating, dreamy indie pop sound. I’ve been listening to it on repeat, and it’s truly an outstanding song.
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a talented artist who undoubtedly has a bright future ahead. I’m committed to spreading the word that the Czechoslovak music scene is currently producing music that is truly worth following. I’m eagerly anticipating more tracks from Nathan, as all his singles have been exceptional, and this latest one is my favorite so far. Give it a try – you’ll be hooked right away.
And don’t forget to grab it on Bandcamp as well!
