dog eyes are a lo-fi duo from Oakland, California who surf effortlessly through bedroom pop and indie folk. Their latest single ‘fair’ is one of the most pure and sentimental pieces of music I’ve heard for a while, there are obvious, folksy Big Thief and Haley Heynderickx comparisons to be made here but leaving it at that would be reductive and limiting; this is a band who are undeniably carving out a pleasantly unique little nook within their style. I particularly enjoyed the choral layering of the vocal parts that tread the line between patchwork-homemade and uplifting beauty.
