‘Stare into his bloodshot eyes’
‘Original Sin’ is the latest single by bedroom producer benwork, it is a hypnotic waltz with mesmerising, underwater guitars and an ethereal voice that tackles the uncomfortable and alienating feeling of being detached from yourself. Stylistically, it shares something in common with the likes of Elliott Smith and Sparklehorse while managing to avoid cliches of the genre and becoming stale and over-familiar. There is a refreshingly ‘live’ element to the production that ages the track with an analogue fizz.
