Introducing: Brendan Michealeen Fox Hannigan – Weeper & 3 Qs

“Brendan lives in Los Angeles. He arrived via Chicago. He played in the Chicago music scene for a bit and then disappeared. He’s back with his lo-fi folk.”

This was a little intro to the artist and here is a little blurb about the EP Brandan sent me:

“This is my first set of recorded music in about 15 years. I started writing music again about 2 years ago. A second EP is already in the works.”

This new EP is a collection of various lo-fi folk-rock songs with special rawness. They are honest and speak directly to you. I am enjoying Brendan’s simple approach to songwriting and whole production. It feels a little bit retro and I am quite enjoying that. It is just 5 tracks and you can manage it in under 10 minutes and go explore this. My favorite song is the last one, so it is worth finishing till the end.

I reached out to Brendan and asked him our 3 Qs:

What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?

I think making music is just innately in me. There’s music in my DNA. My dad is a musician. I think the thing that keeps me making music is it makes me happy. It makes me feel like myself. It’s even cooler when it relates to others. It raises my vibrations for sure.

What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?

The most challenging thing in my music path is me. It’s easy to abandon it when you’re busy with your 9 -5er. I’m doing a lot better with making it something I do every day though.

What would you dream to do if anything was possible?

If anything was possible, I would love to make a decent living just writing, creating, and performing. That would be heavenly.
