Work Wife unpretentiously sounds like a nice soundtrack for a summer trip with all its surprises. Beautiful melodies combined with ambient comforting resounds. For those who does not know yet this marvellous band, Work Wife is an indie pop band with Brooklyn-based musicians Meredith Lampe, Cody Edgerly, and Kenny Monroe. According to their own words: “Work Wife blends melancholy lyrics and folk rock instrumentals to achieve music that evokes their own dark humor.” It is worth mentioning a subtle influence from American Football, Marika Hackman and Sufjan Stevens. It is truly a unique band with a great talent ahead of them.
Released on April 12 of this year, the EP Waste Management LP includes their previous EP: Quitting Season. All songs have a nice trip on their own. With a structure, it creates great feelings when you are listening to their beautiful arranges.
