The Gleamers carve colorful sounds with tinges of psychedelia — echoing 90’s alt while floating toward newness Words, aliens, mirrors, the apocalypse – their debut EP Even See is an eclectic journey Stay tuned for more exciting releases/check out their shows making waves in LA and beyond.

This is a brief bio that was shared with us upon receiving a single from the debut EP of a newly formed LA-based band. The EP, which features a captivating collection of four songs, was just released, and I couldn’t wait to dive in. There’s something truly exhilarating about discovering fresh music straight from the oven, especially when it comes from an emerging band making their debut.

The tracks on this EP seamlessly blend various genres, drawing influences from soft grunge, alternative rock, psychedelic rock, and slowcore. However, I would argue that slowcore stands out as the most prominent genre, characterized by the beautifully submerged melodies and that signature slowcore heaviness that resonates deeply with me.

This EP serves as a strong statement from the band, showcasing their ability to tap into the new wave of 90s-inspired music, a sound that really strikes a chord with listeners like myself. The guitar work throughout the EP is particularly impressive; the riffs create enchanting melodies that linger long after the music stops.

In just under 12 minutes, you can experience this EP in its entirety, making it an easily digestible piece of art that fits conveniently into anyone’s free time. I thoroughly appreciated the grungy 90s vibe that permeates all four songs, enhanced by a unique slowcore and alternative rock twist. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed these new tracks, and they stand out as some of the most interesting music I’ve encountered in quite some time.
