Released on Friday, July 26th, 2024, the EP Happiness by Ghost brings a dreamy atmosphere that can be hard to get just right – but Lambs Dancing on Two Feet does it perfectly on every track. The EP starts off with “Happy”, a gorgeously dreamy song with soft, ethereal vocals and lyrics. It has really nice, satisfying beats and instrumentals that just capture you entirely. Another track that I can’t get over is “Ambient Billionaire”, which opens with a sample of the artist speaking, their voice sounding almost like a ghost speaking or like something you’d hear in a dream. After the sample fades out, the beat drops, and the ethereal feeling is amplified.
My favorite track from Happiness is “Baby”, I’ve been obsessed with the beat and the ambient, dreamy sounds – and then, when the vocals come in for the vocal chorus, they’re mixed in such a way that they feel as if you’re hearing them in a dream, or from far away, creating an incredibly ethereal effect. After the vocals come in, there is this break for catchy instrumentals that I can’t get out of my head. I love “Baby”, and I think you will too.
Overall, Happiness is one of my favorite EPs of all time, and I can’t get over the dreamy effects and ethereal sounds. Each track is unique and shows off Ghost Orange’s range and songwriting skills. Do yourself a favor and give Happiness a listen – it will be released on all streaming platforms on Friday, July 26th, 2024.
