“Running out of Road encapsulates anthems of intimacy from underground artists like Jason Molina, and still manages to leave headroom for complex soundscapes similar to those of George Harrison.
Running out of Road reckons with loneliness, longing, and coming out on the other side a richer soul. The bands studio, filled with reel-to-reel recordings, large machine halls and analoge effects shaped the intimate, raw and vulnerable tracks on the EP.“
I am thrilled to share with you an exceptional EP from a young band based in Oslo, Norway. As someone who blogs about music, it’s always exciting to come across new and talented artists from different parts of the world. This EP is a delightful blend of various genres ranging from alt-country and indie folk to psychedelic pop and indie rock. The collection of songs is very interesting, making it a unique listening experience. The sound of this EP is retro, yet it’s bursting with fresh energy, which is a rare combination. As a European myself, I am proud that this EP comes from our continent and showcases the impressive talent that exists here. This debut EP is a solid one, and I am excited to see what this band has in store for us in the future. For now, I highly recommend you listen to these four tracks and let yourself get lost in the mood.
I reached out to the band and asked our 3 Qs.
What inspired you to start making music and what keeps you making music?
We are drawn to making music because we want to expand upon the experience of sound. Music is only heard, you cannot see anything of what we create. Yet it unfolds in the theatre of the mind, casting landscapes and sonic imagery. What a beautiful thing to give to someone.
What was the most challenging thing in your music (artistic) path?
The challenge is where the vision meets the boundaries we have set upon ourselves in genre and use of equipment. We record on magnetic tape and rely mostly on analog effects, these things have their own voices, and they shape the end result.
What would you dream to do if anything was possible?
If anything were possible we would love to collaborate more with people we are inspired by.
