Single: Aji – Everyday

Born out of a love for blog era indie, 70’s style songwriting, and experimental production, Aji is the studio project of Brisbane songwriter/producer Tom Briese. 2023 saw the release of Aji’s chamber-pop/jazz fusion debut EP ‘In Spring’. His new single, ‘Everyday’, marks a shift in sonic direction with a focus on delivering short, hooky pop songs reminiscent of artists like Uffie, Toro y Moi, and Yves Tumor.

Explosive bedroom indie rock aesthetically like Dijon, Uffie, and Yves Tumor. The second single from Aji’s debut album. ‘Everyday’ captures a tiredness towards everyday life and the often-constant external pressure to always be and do more. Abrasive guitar bends are combined with gritty drums and bass to give a feeling of urgency to escape this reality.”

It is summer on the other side of the planet and you can hear in this energetic song that is emitting a lot of summer sunlight, beach vibes and upbeat melodies that will pump you out. It is quite refreshing to listen to this in these dark gloomy winter days that are still ahead of us, when you are happy for even glimpse of warmth and fresh energy. This one was quite catchy and I enjoyed it pretty much.
