30 TRACKS PICKED BY MY BEST UNBEATEN BROTHER

At Start-Track we like to invite our favourite artists to create guest playlists for us to share on our ever-expanding Spotify profile. Across the playlist’s 30 songs, these artists share music they’ve been listening to recently, as well as some which has shaped their own art and philosophies.

This new playlist is from the Croydon-based trio My Best Unbeaten Brother. The band is comprised of Ben and Adam Parker (who have previously released records together as Nosferatu D2, Tempertwig, and The Superman Revenge Squad Band) as well as bassist/illustrator Ben Fry (formerly of The Jonbarr Hinge). We recently reviewed their brilliant debut mini-album, Pessimistic Pizza,’ and here’s what we had to say:

“I highly recommend listening to this album as it captures the current spirit of Britain. Every song on this album is remarkable, and I can’t wait to listen to them repeatedly. The album’s energy is so compelling that anyone who listens to it will be drawn back to it time and time again. For me one of the best albums of this summer.” (read the full Start-Track review here)

30 Tracks Picked by My Best Unbeaten Brother:

As vocalist/guitarist Ben Parker told Amplify the Noise, “there are not many bands that we are all collectively into – the only two that all three of us really like are Dinosaur Jr and the Cure.” As such, with ten songs picked by each member, this is a pretty eclectic list that ranges from Life Without Buildings and The Stone Roses to Funeral for a Friend and Lamb of God.

There’s much to discover in this playlist so please be sure to listen, and also to subscribe to the Start-Track Spotify channel here. You can find a full list of guest playlists here.

My Best Unbeaten Brother’s Pessimistic Pizza album is out now via Audio Antihero (check out their label feature here).
