30 TRACKS PICKED BY LAS NUBES

At Start-Track we like to invite our favourite artists to create guest playlists for us to share on our ever-expanding Spotify profile. Across the playlist’s 30 songs, these artists share music they’ve been listening to recently, as well as some which have shaped their own art and philosophies.

This new playlist is from Miami-based multilingual Garage Pop band Las Nubes. Although the group made waves with theirSMVT debut album in 2019 (even finding fans in Iggy Pop, Calvin Johnson, and Thurston Moore), and have been touring the world ever since, it wasn’t until this year’s spellbinding Tormentas Malsanas LP that the group made it onto our radar.

Here’s what Callum had to say about the album in his rave review:

“It really is no wonder that Las Nubes has been recognised by noise rock pioneers and champions; Thurston Moore, Calvin Johnson, and of course, Iggy Pop. It’s difficult to not to notice a band made up of two queer women, covered head-to-toe in tattoos, making a positive mark in their local scene, producing some of the loudest music around – it is a striking image…’Tormentas Malsanas’ is an absolute joy.”  (read the full Start-Track review here)

Songs like Pesada,” “Would Be,” “Enredados,” and “Caminar Sola” instantly explained why so many Spanish-language publications and radio shows have been raving about Las Nubes for years now, but with the arrival of this second album, and the announcement that the band will be touring Europe in 2025, it’s time for everyone else to catch up.

30 Tracks Picked by Las Nubes:
